Is a special date in which people commemorate when Jesus born. The exact date is the 25th of December, but usually you stay awake the 24th until 12:00pm.
Some people give gifts to each member of the family, some families open them at 11:00pm on the 24 or at early morning of 25.

it is a costume to call the man that give presents to the people: Santa Claus, Kris Kringle, Saint Nick, etc
